If you’re looking for a healthier sweet treat option this holiday season, these maple glazed walnuts are a must try! They are naturally sweetened with maple syrup so they can help satisfy your sweet tooth and at the same time provide many health benefits from the walnuts.
While all nuts are nutrient dense, walnuts happen to be the highest in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is a plant-based omega-3 source. These healthy fats are anti-inflammatory and play a role in heart health. Walnuts also contain antioxidants which help support our immune system. They provide some plant-based protein as well as fiber.
Just like my holiday granola recipe, I think these maple glazed walnuts would make a delicious and healthy DIY gift! Put them in a jar and add some festive ribbon and you are good to go!
